Lessings Nathan der Weise für die Generation Popmusik von Bridge Markland. Ein Frau-Playback-Theater mit Puppen und Popmusik!

Virtuos jongliert Bridge Markland klassische Textzeilen und popmusikalische Zitate und unterläuft ganz nebenbei festgelegte Rollenzuschreibungen. Dabei wechselt sie rasant zwischen Performance, Puppenspiel und Playback und entstaubt den klassischen Stoff für ein breites Publikum.

Empfangen mit „Burning down the House“ (Talking Heads) kehrt Nathan nach längerer Reise nach Hause zurück. Glücklicherweise wurde seine Tochter Recha rechtzeitig von dem Helden gerettet, der sie gleich einem Engel vor dem Feuer bewahrt: „Send me an angel“ (Scorpions) Lessings Parabel stellt den Menschen in den Mittelpunkt und nicht seine Herkunft oder gar Religion – und ist damit so aktuell wie nie. Humanität und Toleranz können Gräben überwinden und ein friedvolles Miteinander ermöglichen – diese Botschaft, rasant und eingängig, getragen von einem Klangteppich bekannter Popsongs, wird in der One-Woman- Puppen- Verwandlungs-Playback-Show von Bridge Markland hervorragend verkörpert und präsentiert.

Lessing's Nathan the Wise for the pop music generation
A One-Woman lip-sync theatre with puppets and pop music

In her classic in the box series - Bridge Markland juggles texts from classical German theatre pieces and pop music quotations with virtuosity and undermines fixed role attributions along the way. She switches rapidly between performance, puppetry and puppetry and lips-sync and dusts off the classic material for a wider audience.

Welcomed with "Burning down the House" (Talking Heads), Nathan returns home after a long journey. Fortunately, his daughter Recha was rescued in time by the hero, who, like an angel, saves her from the fire: "Send me an angel" (Scorpions) Lessing's parable focuses on people rather than their origin or even religion - and is therefore more up to date then ever. Humanity and tolerance can overcome divides and enable peaceful coexistence - this message, fast-paced and catchy, carried by a tapestry of well-known pop songs, is excellently embodied and presented in Bridge Markland's one-woman puppet transformation lip-sync show.
