Die Berliner Performerin Bridge Markland ist eine Virtuosin des Rollenspiels und der Verwandlung. Eine Künstlerin die zwischen Tanz, Theater, Performance, Cabaret und PuppenPerformance mit Leichtigkeit alle Grenzen überschreitet. Ihre besondere Spezialität sind Gender-Performances bei denen das Publikum den Wechsel von Frau zu Mann (oder Vice Versa) live miterlebt. Sie ist Pionierin der Drag und Genderperformance in Deutschland und organisiert seit 1994 Drag-King Events, Tourneen und Festivals.
Im Jahr 2000 erfanden Bridge Markland + Diane Torr ( Grand Daddy of Drag Kings) das go drag! festival Konzept - gefeiert wird Drag Kunst von Frauen, Trans* und Nicht-Binären Künstler*innen. Die ersten zwei Festival Editionen fanden 2002 + 2022 in Berlin statt. www.godrag.de

Berlin gender performance legend Bridge Markland talks about her life - we hear anecdotes including how experiments in disguise in Berlin and New York in the early 1990s led to the creation of Bridge's most famous gender performance The Most Beautiful Woman in the World.
Her particular speciality are gender performances in which the audience experiences the change from woman to man (or vice versa) live on stage.
She is a pioneer of drag and gender performance in Germany and has organised drag king events, tours and festivals since 1994. In the year 2000 Bridge Markland + Diane Torr invented the go drag! festival concept - celebrating drag art by women, trans*, non-binary artists. The first two go drag! festival editions took place in Berlin in 2002 + 2022. www.godrag.de
