The candid and comical tale of a mad tranny from the north of England; how a little boy who secretly wore their sister's dresses, moved to Berlin, became a Drag King, grew a pair of tits and discovered gender euphoria. First written in 2022 for go drag! Berlin, and developed through a run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Nancy: On Drag is an invite into the stories and the structures through which Nancy has made sense of themself and the world.
The shapeshifter of Berlin, the artist formerly known as Camp Dad, known formally as Shirley Knott. Nancy’s multiple drag personalities make-up a pantheon of alternative egos. For 5 years, Nancy has performed within Berlin's drag, cabaret, theatre and club spaces. Through this performance/lecture/story/manifesto they offer a taste of Berlin's queer scene, and a peek into their impression about “what is drag?”
Nancy Nutter grew up in an old industrial town in East Lancashire, after studying Philosophy, Politics, and Aesthetics they moved to Berlin and fell into the alternative cabaret and queer party scene. Since they have made their life as an artist, performing in drag, and creating queer community spaces which bring to the fore voices which are not heard often enough. In 2019 Nancy started Venus Boys, and in 2022 was co-artistic director of go drag! festival Berlin. The future is non binary!

Die freimütige und komische Geschichte einer verrückten Transperson aus Nordengland; wie ein kleiner Junge, der heimlich die Kleider seiner Schwester trug, nach Berlin zog, zum Drag King wurde, sich ein Paar Titten wachsen ließ und die Gender-Euphorie entdeckte. 2022 für go drag! Berlin geschrieben und durch eine Aufführung am Edinburgh Fringe weiterentwickelt, ist »Nancy: ON DRAG« eine Einladung in die Geschichten und Strukturen, durch die Nancy sich und der Welt einen Sinn gegeben hat.
Die Gestaltwandlerin von Berlin, die Künstlerin, die früher als Camp Dad bekannt war, ist jetzt offiziell auch als Shirley Knott bekannt. Nancys multiple Drag-Persönlichkeiten bilden ein Pantheon von alternativen Egos. Seit 5 Jahren tritt Nancy in Berlins Drag-, Kabarett-, Theater- und Club-Szene auf. Mit dieser Performance/Vortrag/Geschichte/Manifest bietet Nancy einen Einblick in die Berliner Queer-Szene und ihre persönliche Vorstellung von "Was ist Drag?"
Nancy Nutter wuchs in einer alten Industriestadt in East Lancashire auf.
